To improve our health, one reluctantly placed step at a time.
Welcome to Best Effort Walking Club!
Origins
How It Started
It started in 2020: extra time at home sparked a simple stroll around the block that quickly snowballed into neighborhood-hopping across South Florida.
For many of us, the shift had been brewing for years. Gradually, late nights and brutal hangovers gave way to arch support, chasing ibuprofen with electrolytes, and reasonable bedtimes. Suddenly, the same friends who used to stay out UNTIL SUNRISE were waking up AT SUNRISE just to get their steps in! ☀️
Best Effort Walking Club was born to keep us connected, make new friends, and encourage each other—without the three-day recovery period. Whether we’re pounding South Florida pavement side-by-side or swapping neighborhood routes, step counts, and views from distant lands, it’s all about community.
Less Baja Beach Club, more Best Effort Walking Club... but a club nonetheless!

One Choice. How Hard Could It Be?
The Group Scene
You get expert-level sports rage, low-level cardio, and the silent agreement of moving in roughly the same direction while pretending everyone agrees on the pace. Someone drops unsolicited driveway maintenance advice, another guy mourns his favorite team, and the person with the best knees strides 20 feet ahead like he's leading an expedition—but for all the mild absurdity, it’s a solid rhythm. At the end of the day, you're doing it "together"!
The Solo Act
Equally glorious. You command full dictator-level authority over your pace, your route, and—most importantly—when to stop for absolutely no reason. You can clear your head, process your thoughts, or simply enjoy the rare luxury of not having to negotiate a left turn with a committee. (Or hey, maybe you're just out there because your doctor strongly suggested it!)
The Takeaway
Roll deep or step out alone—just get yourself moving. Group walks keep you in the loop; solo walks silence the noise. Both should end with a cold drink in hand!
